DETAILS FROM THE SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF’s OFFICE
At approximately 1:51 A.M. on January 20, 2023, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a stabbing at a board and care facility on the 6300 Block of Orange Avenue. The caretaker at the facility reported that one resident had stabbed another resident.
Deputies arrived on scene and located the victim inside, with no pulse. They began administering first aid until the Sacramento Metro Fire Department arrived and pronounced the 59-year-old male victim deceased at the scene.
Simultaneously, deputies located and detained the suspect inside the residence, who was later identified as 59-year-old Glen DOHERTY. Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene a short time later, interviewed witnesses, and gathered evidence.
Based on their investigation, homicide detectives formally arrested DOHERTY. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for murder and is scheduled to appear in court on January 24, 2023, at 3:00 P.M.
