DETAILS FROM THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT

On November 25, 2022 at approximately 3:57 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 4100 Block of 23rd Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim, a 37-year-old man had been shot at least one time. Prior to officers arrival, the victim was taken by friends to a gas station where an ambulance responded to take the victim to an area hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They will be processing the scene, canvassing the area, and interviewing witnesses.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.
