On Saturday, October 8, 2022, at approximately 9:49 p.m., the Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call in the 6300 block of Whitecliff Way regarding a disturbance. The caller advised that they heard a possible gunshot that came from or near the residence and requested officers respond and conduct a welfare check to ensure the residents were safe.

Deputies responded to conduct a welfare check. During a protective sweep of the residence, deputies located an adult male suffering from at least one stab wound. Deputies performed life-saving measures while awaiting Sacramento Metro Fire. Fire personnel arrived a short time later and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene investigators responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses, and gathered evidence. The circumstances, including the motive, of this incident remain under investigation. No further information or suspect information is available at this time.

The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin.
