On September 14, 2022 just before 11:25 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 200 block of Bannon Street for a report of a subject who had been found deceased. The Sacramento Fire Department had initially responded for a medical aid call and located a male adult with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire personnel.

Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They conducted a thorough canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses. The circumstances of what occurred remain under investigation and there is no suspect information to provide at this time.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
