POLICE: Homicide Investigation | 3000 block of Ramsgate Way | Rancho Cordova | Sacramento cover

When we arrived on scene early Saturday morning, Deputies, Officers and CSI were on scene in the 3000 block of Ramsgate investigating a house party gone bad, neighbors said. One person was shot and transported to the hospital under CPR according to radio reports. Homicide investigators were arriving on scene.

On Friday, August 5, 2022, at approximately 11:21 p.m., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call regarding a shooting that just occurred in the 3000 block of Ramsgate Way in the City of Rancho Cordova. The caller advised that her boyfriend had been shot and was lying on the ground.

Rancho Cordova Police Officers responded and located an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers administered life-saving measures while awaiting Sacramento Metro Fire personnel. Fire arrived and transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses, and gathered evidence. No further information or suspect information is available at this time.

The identity of the victim, in this case, will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin.
