DETAILS FROM THE SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF’s OFFICE
On Friday, June 24, 2022, at approximately 3:44 a.m., the Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call in the 2800 block of El Centro Road regarding a shooting that had just occurred. The caller advised a female subject had been shot inside of the business and was lying on the floor.
Deputies responded and located an adult female suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Deputies performed life-saving measures while awaiting Sacramento Metro Fire. Fire personnel arrived a short time later, and transported the victim to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased hours later.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene investigators responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence. It is unclear what led up to the incident, however, it is believed that the victim and the suspect knew each other and that the suspect is an employee of the business where this crime occurred. No further information or suspect information is available at this time.
The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after identification and notification of next of kin.
