DETAILS FROM THE WEST SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT
On 03/19/2022, at approximately 11:30 pm, West Sacramento Police Officers responded within the 1000 block of West Capitol Avenue regarding the report of a shooting.
The victim, a 32-year-old Rancho Cordova resident, was located and had a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to the hospital where he underwent surgery and is in critical but stable condition.
The shooting suspect was found near the scene, arrested, and remains in custody. She was identified as Leaetta Montgomery, a 51-year-old resident of Sacramento.
