POLICE: Two Shot, Juveniles Arrested and Multiple Guns Seized in South Area Shootout

DETAILS FROM THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT
Tuesday, January 18, 2022

Around 4:30 p.m., our officers responded to the area of 24th St / Florin Rd regarding a shooting. Several community members contacted us and reported that multiple individuals had been shot.

Upon their arrival, our officers located a male juvenile victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his foot. Officers rendered aid to the victim, who was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Our officers began an investigation into the incident, and located evidence related to the shooting. Our South Gang Enforcement Team (SGET) responded to assist with the investigation, and ultimately located the suspect vehicle in front of a residence. SGET Officers coordinated a plan to safely contact the individuals that were inside the residence. Through their investigation, officers identified a male juvenile subject from inside the residence as a suspect in the shooting and arrested him for related charges.

A short time later, a second male juvenile with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound arrived at an area hospital. Officers identified this second male juvenile as an additional suspect in the shooting. After receiving treatment, the second male juvenile was booked for related charges. A total of (7) illegally possessed firearms were seized during the investigation.

…we have a small favor to ask you. More people are viewing news from PSN than ever before. Despite our growing popularity, we are struggling to provide you coverage about what is going on in our community. Currently, PSN consists of a small, part-time team of volunteers who pay out of their own pocket to bring you news.

We have not put up a paywall because people have a right to know what’s going on in our community. We cannot survive on advertising alone because advertising rates are collapsing-threatening the existence of many local news outlets.

PSN’s unmatched coverage takes a lot of time, money, and hard work. But we do it because we want to serve our community and you deserve to know what’s really going on around you.

PSN obviously puts a lot of time and effort into bringing news, real news, to Sacramento. There’s no bias, no filter, no agenda; just events unfolding as you would see on scene. Anyone who is concerned about public safety should look to these guys first, it may not always be pleasant but it’s always reality. -Scott H.

If everyone who values our reporting helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as $1, you can support PSN and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
