DETAILS FROM THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT

On November 29, 2021 around 11:50 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 700 block of Lampasas Avenue regarding a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers located an adult male and adult female who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. The male was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and the female was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers also contacted another adult female who sustained what appeared to be a graze wound that did not require hospitalization.

Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, homicide detectives responded to take over the investigation. Detectives and crime scene investigators conducted a thorough canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses. Several hours later while detectives were still processing the scene, they learned that the male victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

This investigation is in its early stages and information is limited. The circumstances that led up to this shooting are under investigation and there is no suspect information to provide at this time.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
