THIS IS A DIRECT REPOST FROM THE ELK GROVE POLICE DEPARTMENT MEDIA RELEASE

On Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 10:31 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to the 3400 block of Laguna Boulevard for a report of a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and learned an adult male was transported to an area hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim later succumbed to his injuries. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after the next of kin have been notified.

A second adult victim arrived at an area hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The circumstances which led up to this shooting are still under investigation and detectives do not have a suspect description to provide at this point.
