Just after midnight Monday morning, officers from the gang enforcement unit were making a traffic stop in the South Sacramento area, according to radio traffic. The driver of the vehicle (occupied by two people) failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. Both driver and passenger bailed out of the vehicle and ran in the area of 47th Avenue and Ventura Road.

Officers were able to quickly identify the subjects and a police perimeter was established with an emphasis on the corner home.

As officers investigated backgrounds of the subjects, the driver had a fresh, no-bail warrant for felony pursuit, and the passenger had a warrant for brandishing.

After public address announcements were made, the driver came out of the home and surrendered peacefully. At the time of this posting, the passenger is still outstanding.

We will update with official information from the Sacramento Police Department as it becomes available.
