Just before 1:30 P.M. Monday, the crew of Sacramento Fire Department's Engine 1 was on scene at 626 I Street, at the corner of 7th and I Streets in Downtown Sacramento for a medical call, when they heard a vehicle crash, then a secondary louder crash, according to crew members. When they investigated the source of the crash sound, they found one vehicle in the street on 7th Street, just south of I Street, and another vehicle that had crashed all the way into the bottom floor of the building, through a window structure.

According to bystanders, the gray vehicle was driving the wrong way (north) on 7th Street when it collided with the southbound white vehicle, sending the gray vehicle up over the sidewalk, through a small tree, and through the glass window structure of the building.

No one was injured in the incident. After pulling some of the wreckage out of the way, the tow operator was able to back the gray vehicle out of the building and onto the flatbed tow truck.

A couple of lanes were blocked on 7th Street while the incident was documented and cleaned up, however, traffic flow was not interrupted.
