THIS IS A DIRECT REPOST FROM THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT MEDIA RELEASE

On June 30, 2021 at approximately 12:21 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 200 block of Cadillac Dr after several callers reported hearing shots fired in the area. When officers arrived they located two victims, both adult males, who had been shot. One victim was declared deceased on scene and the second victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition by Sacramento Fire Department personnel.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. The circumstances that led up to this shooting are still under investigation and detectives will be conducting a canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence. There is no suspect information to provide at this time.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.
