Homicide Investigation – 7500 Block of Skelton Way

“On April 11, 2021 at approximately 2:39 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 7500 block of Skelton Way for a report of a subject who had been shot. When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim who sustained at least one life-threatening gunshot wound. Sacramento Fire Department personnel arrived on scene shortly after and declared the victim deceased at the scene.

“Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation and will be working together to process the scene. Detectives will also be conducting a canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence. This investigation is in the early stages and there is no information regarding motive or suspect(s) to provide at this point.

“The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.

Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000. Anonymous tips can also be submitted using the free “P3 Tips” smartphone app.”
