On 03/16/2021, at approximately 0151 hours, a CHP Solano unit attempted to make an enforcement stop on a maroon Ford Mustang for speed on eastbound I-80, west of Allison, in Vacaville.
The Mustang failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit traversed through Solano, Woodland, and into the South Sacramento area.
Speeds varied throughout the pursuit, but reached upwards of 125 MPH.
Shortly after the Mustang exited the freeway on Jefferson Boulevard, the vehicle was involved in a solo rollover collision. The Mustang overturned onto the lawn of the State Capital.
A male adult driver (early 20s) and a female adult passenger (early 20s) were successfully extricated with minor injuries. The driver was then arrested for felony evasion and suspicion of DUI.
