Just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, the staff at Denny’s on the corner of Richards and Bercut, called into River District security, Watchmen Specialty Protection, dispatch stating there was an attempt robbery in progress with an unknown weapon.
Security officers saturated the area, and based on a good description from the caller, they were able to locate the suspect across the street, who was running east on Richards Blvd., tossing Denny’s meals and other items.
The subject was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without incident.
The subject was quickly identified and also found to be on parole. He was turned over to the Sacramento Police Department and taken to jail.
