Robbery attempt ends in major wreck, North Sacramento

About 1:20 p.m., Sac PD and Sacramento Fire were dispatched to reports of a vehicle accident on Jessie Ave near Norwood Ave.

Police say a driver was attempting to rob the driver of the hummer and while trying to get away, ended up crashing. The attempted robbery driver took off, and it is unknown if that suspect has been located.

Surprisingly, there were only minor injuries in this accident, and firefighters were able to clear the scene quickly.

SMUD was also requested because part of a power pole was impacted. Power needed to be turned off before tow could remove the vehicles in case they fell.

Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) arrived to the scene to get pictures of the scene and conduct their investigation as well.

The entire intersection of Norwood Ave and Jessie Ave was closed down while SMUD and tow trucks attempted to remove the vehicle while minimizing damage to power lines.

There is no other information available at this time.
