THIS IS A DIRECT REPOST FROM THE SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF's OFFICE

Just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call from the 2600 block of Auburn Boulevard regarding a gunshot victim at a hotel.

Deputies arrived and located a 23-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. A second victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being shot at the same location.

On January 24, 2020, Sacramento Sheriff’s Homicide detectives arrested three (3) suspects on charges related to this investigation. They have been identified as 22-year-old Robert Massingale, 23-year-old Alizey Whitfield, and 25-year-old Darquan Jackson.

Detectives believe the victims were attending a party at the hotel. While in the parking lot, they were approached by the suspects, who began shooting at them. No further details are available at this time.
