Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a stabbing near the Wells Fargo on Stockton Blvd near Florin Road.

Deputies arrived and located an adult male suffering from at least one stab wound. He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

An adult female at the scene sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound to the lower body.

The suspect is a known transient in the area and was arrested without incident.

Detectives believe the stabbing occurred after the suspect and victim got into an argument in the parking lot.

UPDATE FROM THE SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF's OFFICE

The suspect, who has been identified as 64-year-old Roosevelt Hardley is a known transient in the area and was taken into custody without incident. He has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges related to this investigation.

Detectives believe the stabbing occurred after the suspect and victim got into a verbal altercation in a business parking.

The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
