At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call from the 3400 block of Whitney Avenue regarding a male who had been stabbed.
Deputies arrived and located an adult male suffering from at least one stab wound. The male was declared deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives are on scene investigating. An adult male was detained at the scene in relation to this incident. The stabbing appears to be related to a verbal altercation and the relationship between the parties is being investigated.
Detectives do not believe anyone involved is outstanding at this time.
The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
