UPDATE- December 20, 2019- Suspect in custody
SUSPECT IN CUSTODY
Homicide detectives arrested 43-year-old Jonathon Davis in the death of a 36-year-old male found in the 5700 block of Marconi Avenue. Davis was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
Detectives believe the suspect stabbed the victim during a verbal altercation that escalated.
Both the suspect and victim were known to frequent the area and may have been acquaintances. The nature of the verbal alteration is unknown at this time.
ORIGINAL DETAILS
At approximately 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call from the 5700 block of Marconi Avenue regarding a male who was lying on the side of the roadway and appeared deceased.
Deputies arrived and located an adult male in his 30’s with apparent trauma to the upper body. The male was declared deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives are on scene investigating. No motive or suspect information is available at this time.
The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
