THIS IS A DIRECT REPOST FROM THE SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF's OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

At approximately 3:25 a.m. on Sunday September 8, 2019, the Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call regarding two gunshot wound victims on the 6000 block of Hilltop Drive in Carmichael. The caller stated that someone drove by and shot two family members.

Deputies responded to the scene and located a male and female adult that had been shot while inside a home. Sacramento Metro Fire Department responded to the scene and treated the male victim at the scene for minor grazing injuries. The female victim was transported to a local hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.

Responding deputies ascertained the suspect vehicle was a dark colored SUV that left the area headed west bound. The vehicle had departed the scene by the time deputies arrived. Several ammunition casings were found at the scene. Detectives are investigating. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this time.
