Just before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday August 6, 2019, the Fire Department requested the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office’s assistance in responding to reports of a shooting at a Senior Care Facility in the 4000 block of Walnut Avenue in Carmichael. Upon arrival, deputies located two gunshot victims, one male and one female, inside a room. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
There is no indication of any outstanding suspects at this time and a weapon was found at the scene. Detectives believe the relationship between the victims is husband and wife.
Homicide detectives are currently on scene, along with Crime Scene Investigators. No further information is available.
The identity of the victims in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
