A little after 10:15 p.m. on June 12, 2017, the Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a male who knocked on the door of a residence in the 5000 block of J Parkway in South Sacramento and stated he had been shot.

Deputies responded to the scene and located the 24-year-old male victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Deputies also located a vehicle that crashed into a separate residence. There was another 24-year-old victim inside the driver’s seat of the vehicle. This victim was identified as Ju’an Parker. The other male victim, who was initially the passenger of the crashed vehicle, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. He survived his injuries.

Deputies located evidence of the shooting scene at the intersection of Forest Parkway and East Parkway. After reviewing red light camera footage in the area, detectives believe the suspect vehicle is a dark colored compact sedan (similar to the attached stock photo) seen in video footage from Florin Road and East Parkway.

At 10:13 p.m. the dark colored compact sedan come to a stop at the intersection of Florin Road and East Parkway. The dark colored sedan stopped at the red light, in the #2 lane and was prepared to travel eastbound on Florin Road.
Seconds later, PARKER’s vehicle, a red 4-door sedan, traveled through the intersection and continued onto East Parkway. Immediately after PARKER’s vehicle cleared the intersection, the dark colored sedan activated its blinker and turned in front of the #3 lane and proceeded southbound on East Parkway against the red light.

Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle seen in the footage provided. The vehicle is similar to a Nissan Versa as pictured in the attached stock photo. No other suspect information is available at this time.
