Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a person was shot and a traffic collision occurred in South Sacramento.

Around 3:40 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded for reports of a shooting at the intersection of Lindale Drive and Florin Road.

When deputies arrived, they found two vehicles with moderate to major damage on Lindale Drive, just south of Florin Road. Initially, it appeared to just be a traffic collision. After a few minutes though, deputies located an adult female victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. That victim was transported to the hospital by paramedics.

Lindale Drive will be closed north of Florin Road during the course of the investigation.
