SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Officers are investigating a suspicious package at a state government building in Downtown.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol’s Capitol Protection Section responded to the Department of Health Care Services building located at 1501 Capitol Avenue after an employee reported a suspicious looking and smelling package had arrived. The package was moved to the building’s underground loading dock for safety.
CHP responded to the scene and requested the parking garage to be shut down, and for a CHP canine unit to respond. The Sacramento Fire Department’s Hazardous Material Response Team also responded to assist.
