17-273831 (Burglary ): 3500 block of E Curtis Dr at 10:35pm.
Officers responded to the above location for a burglary in progress. The caller interrupted a burglary and one suspect was seen running across Curtis Park. It was believed that another suspect was still inside the house.
Officers received reports that the victim had been hit in the head by a second suspect who also fled.
Upon arrival, officers located a female victim on the floor who had been assaulted. Officers located a suspect matching the description of one of the men who fled near the City College Light Rail station.
Officers were unable to locate the second suspect. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Detectives responded and took over the investigation which remains very active. One suspect was arrested for home invasion, assault and conspiracy.
