SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A crash early this morning shut down some lanes of southbound Highway 99.
Just before 2 a.m. this morning, the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a solo-vehicle collision on southbound Highway 99 just north of Florin Road.
When officers arrived, they found a single vehicle that had crashed into the guardrail on the right shoulder. The vehicle had sustained major damage. An occupant of the vehicle was pinned and injured inside.
The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the scene to extricate the occupant and then transported them to a local hospital for their injuries. The severity of injuries was not immediately known.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
