SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento firefighters have rescued a person from the American River.
Around 6:40 tonight, firefighters responded for a reported water rescue on the American River behind the California State Lottery headquarters on North 10th Street.
A helicopter from Metro Fire assisted in the search for the victim, and after a short time located them further downstream.
Firefighters made access to the victim by boat and brought them to a paramedic ambulance standing by for evaluation and transport to a local hospital.
It was unknown at the time of posting what the extent of injuries to the victim were or the reason for the water rescue.
