SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting that left one injured at the Fruitridge Community Park in south Sacramento.

Sheriff’s deputies and paramedics responded to the rear parking lot of the Fruitridge Community Park for a reported shooting. The park is located at 4000 Fruitridge Road.

While en-route, deputies were notified by an additional caller that the shooting victim was located at a nearby residence on the 5800 block of 41st Street. Units responded to that location and found the victim with, per Sheriff’s radio traffic was a non-life threatening injury to the neck consistent with a graze wound from a gunshot. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Deputies immediately canvassed the area and located a shooting scene near the park. A subject was contacted and detained nearby. It is currently unknown was his connection is to the incident.
