SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Deputies are investigating multiple shots fired at a popular south Sacramento County park.

Around 10:35 Sunday night, deputies responded to a report of multiple shots fired at Rutter Park on Palmer House Drive, which is south of Florin Road.

Deputies responded to the park and found that all parties had already fled the area. No victims were able to be located.

A neighbor reported to deputies that the shots were fired and then the large group of people at the park fled. It was apparent that the people at the park had just left as there was still food cooking on some of the park’s barbeque pits.

Deputies had responded to the park earlier in the evening after a neighbor reported what appeared to be an armed robbery in progress where the subjects had guns. That report turned out to be unfounded at the time, deputies only located what appeared to be a large party or vigil at the park.
