SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A fire broke out at a Sacramento school district building Sunday afternoon.

Just before 3:40 Sunday afternoon, Sacramento firefighters responded to a reported structure fire on the 3100 block of Redding Avenue near San Joaquin Street in east Sacramento.

When firefighters arrived, they found fire burning between two commercial structures, with the main fire on the side of the Sacramento City Unified School District’s Transportation Department building.

Within twenty minutes, firefighters had successfully knocked down the fire.

Just before 4:05 PM, the Hazardous Material Response Team was dispatched to the incident for a reason unknown at the time of posting.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Sacramento Fire Department.
