FOLSOM, Calif. – An on-duty Folsom police officer was involved in a vehicle collision Saturday evening.
Just after 7:00 Saturday evening, a Folsom Police Department officer and another citizen were involved in a traffic collision. The collision happened on Riley Street near Glenn Drive, in front of the Kohl’s shopping center.
Paramedics from the Folsom Fire Department responded to the scene to check for any injuries. The officer was transported to Mercy Folsom hospital with an unknown extent of injuries. It was unknown at the time of posting the extent of injuries, if any, of the other involved citizen.
Riley Street was shut down until towing vehicles arrived to clear the involved vehicles.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the collision. Alcohol has not been ruled out as a possible factor with the other driver in this collision.
