ELK GROVE, Calif. – An investigation is underway into an Elk Grove bank robbery.
Police in Elk Grove responded to a reported bank robbery that just occurred at the Bank of the West branch located at 8426 Elk Grove Florin Road near Calvine Road.
A preliminary investigation reveals the suspect passed a note to the bank teller demanding cash. Fearing for their safety, the bank teller passed an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect. The suspect then fled the location on foot. Police are currently searching the area on the ground, including using a police canine unit.
The suspect is described as an adult black male, 5 feet 7 inches, 180 pounds, last seen wearing a black wig, sunglasses, red vest and beige sweater.
