SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) – Detectives are investigating an overnight shooting death at a Sacramento hotel.

Just before midnight, officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the Days Inn hotel on Jibboom Street for reports of a shooting with a victim.

Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male inside a hotel room with an apparent life-threatening gunshot wound. Paramedics from the Sacramento Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.

Detectives were called out to the scene to canvass the area and contact witnesses. The investigation remains active, and no arrests have been made. Detectives have yet to establish a specific motive for the shooting, but believe it to be an isolated incident.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner.
