CARMICHAEL, Calif. – Firefighters worked to extinguish a heavily involved fourplex fire in Carmichael.
Firefighters from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded 4:30 Sunday afternoon for multiple reports of a structure fire at 5166 Connecticut Drive in Carmichael.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy black smoke and fire showing for a residential fourplex. Crews quickly started to attack the fire, and determined they had heavy fire in the attic that had spread to other parts of the multi-family residence. After a short time into the fire attack, crews noticed the roof starting to cave in one of the units, resulting in firefighters being pulled from the unit.
The fire was knocked down around 4:55 PM. The fire district says no injuries were reported in the fire, but did cause extensive damage throughout the units. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
