ELK GROVE – Firefighters responded to a recreational vehicle fire Sunday morning in rural Elk Grove.
Just before 10:35 Sunday morning, firefighters responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the area of Heritage Hill Drive and Harvest Hill Drive. As firefighters were responding, an updated location on the 8600 block of Barmarcia Drive was determined, and crews redirected to the new location.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a fully-involved recreational vehicle trailer next to a residence, with light smoke also showing from the eaves of the residence. Firefighters started a quick attack on the fire, knocking it down within a couple of minutes. Prior to arrival, citizens had started dousing the flames with a nearby hose, which likely assisted firefighters with a quick knockdown. Additional firefighters checked the residence, where no extension was found.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined at time of posting.
