SACRAMENTO, CA – Detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred early Saturday morning in North Sacramento.

Just before 3:30 AM, the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 700 block of Bowles Street for a reported stabbing.

When officers arrived they found a male adult victim outside with a stab wound. The victim sustained a serious injury and was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The suspect fled from the scene prior to officers arriving.

Homicide detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators were summoned to the crime scene to begin collecting evidence, and canvassing the area.

A specific motive has not been determined and this does not appear to be a random act. The investigation remains very active and no arrests have been made.
