SACRAMENTO, CA – Fire crews knocked down an early morning structure fire on Saturday in North Sacramento.

Firefighters from the Sacramento Fire Department responded to the 1300 block of Nogales Street around 5:00 Saturday morning for a report of a residential structure fire.

When crews arrived on scene they found heavy fire showing from the garage portion of an abandoned residence. Crews initiated fire attack and got a knockdown on the fire.

Firefighters noticed the roof starting to cave in some, causing roof operations to cease for safety precautions.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire. An investigator is on scene and has yet to determine the cause of the fire.
