NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA – Deputies are actively searching for a vehicle that took off from them in North Highlands on Monday morning.
The pursuit started near Floral Drive and Larchmont Drive in North Highlands after a deputy from the Auto Crimes Enforcement (ACE) division of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department attempted to contact a subject.
The driver took off from the ACE, reaching speeds over 70 miles per hour, in a black BMW 5-series.
Deputies lost the vehicle near Mc Cain Way and Thomas Drive. The subject is known to deputies and will most likely be contacted at a later time.
A helicopter from the California Highway Patrol was dispatched to assist deputies.
