SACRAMENTO, CA – Firefighters battled a 2-alarm fire Monday morning at a church in South Sacramento.

Around 7:50 Monday morning, firefighters from the Sacramento Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire at the Arena Fijian Assembly of God church at 4831 63rd Street in South Sacramento.

When crews arrived on scene to the church fire, they found heavy black smoke coming from the building. A 2nd alarm was called to bring in additional crews to assist with the fire.

By 8:30, Sacramento Fire had extinguished the fire and cancelled the 2nd alarm.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
