15-241473 (Shots Fired/Shotspotter Activation): North Sacramento at 0120 hours.
Officers responded to the above area regarding a ShotSpotter Activation of a single gunshot. The area was canvassed by responding officers, but no casings were located. After further investigation, officers contacted a man who was considering purchasing a gun from an unknown subject. The transaction was never completed, but the gun was fired into the air prior to the subject leaving. No injuries were reported. The man who fired the weapon was safely taken into custody and charged with a probation violation and discharging a firearm. The firearm was not located.
