SACRAMENTO, CA – Sacramento Fire crews worked a two acre grass fire Monday near Northgate Blvd. and Highway 160.
Chris Harvey with the Sacramento Fire Department said the fire was burning along the American River Parkway between Northgate Blvd. and a nearby railroad bridge. The fire was burning in dry grasses and under high tension power lines, also threatening some nearby trees. Crews called for a second-alarm assignment and started a water tender company to truck in water.
Firefighters were able to contain and knock down the fire, keeping it to around two acres. No structures were damaged nor were any injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
