SACRAMENTO, CA – California Highway Patrol officials from the CHP North Sacramento area office are seeking the assistance of the public in the search for a driver and vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on July 20th.

On July 20, 2015, at 12:45 am, a 2003 black Lincoln Aviator, similar to the one pictured, was traveling westbound Arden Way east of Maple Glen Road, at an unknown speed. A 55-year-old female was walking and pushing a shopping cart from the north side of the roadway across the intersection of Arden Way and Maple Glen Road in a southerly direction. As the female pedestrian entered the westbound slow lane, she was struck by the SUV. The driver of the Lincoln Aviator fled the scene westbound Arden Way. The female pedestrian was pronounced dead at the collision scene.

Sacramento County Coroner later identified the female victim as Janie Christensen, 51, of Sacramento.

CHP Investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating the vehicle, a 2003 black Lincoln Aviator, and driver involved in this collision. The vehicle will have damage to its left front end.
