NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA – Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau is investigating the shooting death of a young adult in North Highlands on Sunday.

Sheriff’s officials say the male victim drove to a home in the 6400 block of Channing Drive near Juneau Way around 11:45 Sunday morning. The victim got out of his vehicle, and told a woman at the location that he had been shot. The victim then collapsed at the scene as the woman call 9-1-1. Sheriff deputies responded and attempted lifesaving measures, but paramedics pronounced the victim deceased.

The actual location where the shooting took place remains unknown to detectives. As of posting, detectives have not determined where the victim drove from prior to arriving at the location on Channing Drive. It is believed by detectives that the victim was friends with the residents of the home he arrived at, which may suggest that the victim was attempting to seek help from the people there.
