ELK GROVE, CA – Elk Grove Police arrested two 17-year-old teenagers late Saturday night after they robbed someone at gun and knifepoint.

Police say that the victim was driving their vehicle eastbound on Lamprey Drive in Elk Grove when he saw both suspects on the corner. The first suspect was riding a skateboard and tapped the front of the victim’s car. When the first suspect fell to the ground, the driver stopped his vehicle and exited to check on the first suspect. When the driver exited the car, the first suspect pulled a handgun and pointed it at the driver. The second suspect approached the driver from behind and brandished a knife. Both suspects demanded personal property from the driver. Police say the driver feared for his safety and complied with the demands.

The second suspect was located and detained in the immediate area of where the robbery took place by responding officers, and was found to be in possession of property taken from the driver. Officers were able to locate and detain the first suspect at a residence in the 9300 block of Camada Court. A search of the residence led police to the discovery of the suspected handgun which turned out to be loaded, and the knife that was used in the robbery. The driver’s property was also located inside the residence.

The driver positively identified both suspects as being responsible for the robbery. The suspects were taken into custody and then transported to juvenile hall.

The names of the suspects are not being released due to their age, however police state both suspects are 17-years-old.
