CARMICHAEL, CA – Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews responded early Monday morning for a playground fire in Carmichael that was later ruled arson.

Just after 4:00 early Monday morning, fire crews responded to Sacramento Adventist Academy at 5601 Winding Way in Carmichael and found a playground that was in flames. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, but not until after $25,000 work of damage had already been done. Students returning to school next month will now have to wait until a new playground can be installed.

Metro Fire arson investigators determined the fire was intentionally set and are asking anyone with information to call the arson anonymous tipline at 916-859-3775.
