The Sacramento Police Department is looking for information regarding a fatal vehicle collision.

On Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at approximately 6:12 a.m., officers responded to a report of solo vehicle collision in the area of Duckhorn Drive and Far Niente Way.  It was determined that the driver of a 1997 Acura Integra failed to negotiate a curve on Duckhorn Drive. The car left the roadway and collided with a street light pole.

The driver, a male in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle. An 18-year-old male passenger, and only additional occupant of the car, was fatally injured as a result of the collision.

Major Collision Investigation Unit Detectives were called to the scene to assist.  It was determined that a vehicle may have been traveling behind the Acura and possibly witnessed the incident.  The witness vehicle was described as being a white Toyota Corolla and at this time is not believed to have been involved in the collision.

Detectives are asking the occupant(s) of the above vehicle or anyone who may have witnessed the collision to please contact police.

The Sacramento Police Department urges anyone with information pertaining to this fatal collision to contact the dispatch center at (916) 264-5471 or M.C.I.U. Detective James Anderson directly at 916 808 3776.
