A fatal light rail train vs pedestrian incident has occurred near Downtown Sacramento.
Shortly before 8 p.m. Sac Fire crews, medics and SacPD were dispatched to the area of 12th Street and North B for a report of an RT involved incident. According to radio reports, when crews arrived a person was trapped under the train and was soon pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics.
Light rail service in the area was shut down, however one lane of 12th Street remained open while officials conducted an investigation and removed the body.
Presently we do not have details of how the incident occurred nor specifics about the victim. We will update as soon as we are able.
