Streets were blocked for several hours as the homicide scene was investigated.

The shooting occurred at the Capitol Manor Apartments at 1701 17th Street in the Midtown area of Sacramento. The call came in around 3 a.m. Tuesday as a disturbance said Officer Michelle Gigante, PIO for the Sacramento Police Department.

“Officers arrived on scene and contacted three people,” Gigante said, “one who was possibly shot.”

The male victim, in his 20’s, was aided by officers until firefighters and paramedics arrived, at which time he was declared deceased.

The other two people at the scene, a male and a female, have detained for questioning, however SacPD is not looking for any other suspect(s).

Homicide investigators and CSI were on scene trying to piece together exactly what happened. “We believe this is an isolated incident, that all three people somehow know each other and are affiliated with that apartment where this incident occurred at or near,” said Gigante.
